Margi Power – Executive Director & Ex Officio Board Member

Margi became Program Director for the Leadership Program on September 1, 2016.  She brings experience in education, software development and nonprofit leadership to the role. Margi has served as a Trustee on the Hillsborough City School District School Board since 2011, and recently served as President of Crystal Springs Chapter of National Charity League in 2017-2018.

Prior to obtaining the Program Director Position, Margi served as an Education Day Chair on the Curriculum Committee.  She is a 2005 graduate of the program and has held leadership positions with the Hillsborough Schools Foundation, the San Mateo County School Boards Association and the San Francisco Junior League.  She has also served on the Board of the San Mateo Public Library Foundation. Margi was promoted to Executive Director in July 2019.

After graduating with a BA from Bowdoin College, Margi became a Charter Corps member of Teach For America.  She also holds an MA from Stanford University in Educational Policy Analysis.

Kaarin Hardy – Development & Alumni Engagement Director

Kaarin Hardy was hired in July 2019 to lead Development and Alumni Engagement for Leadership.

Kaarin has 15 years of experience working in volunteer and non-profit organizations and is a graduate of the 2013 Leadership Class. She brings with her a proven track record of growing organizations and extensive fundraising experience.  She has served as a Hillsborough City School District Trustee, Board Member of the International School of Basel, an Executive Board member of CuriOdyssey Science Museum, and held several leadership positions with Hillsborough Schools Foundation including two terms as President. In the last 15 years she has helped raise more than $9 million dollars for non-profit organizations.

Kaarin has a BA in Political Science from DePauw University and a MA in Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. Kaarin previously worked as a Change Leadership consultant with Deloitte Consulting both in the United States and the United Kingdom.
