WELCOME TO THE SAN MATEO AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE’S LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

LeadForward

The 3-Day Leadership Program is designed for leaders in business, nonprofit and public agencies. We believe everyone has a role to play in shaping the future of their communities.

Participants in the program develop a knowledge base and establish relationships with community leaders representing numerous sectors and issues – from health and housing to education and economic development. Local public, private and nonprofit leaders create connections between communities and constituents through a rich, cross-sector curriculum. For 30 years, the program has developed, engaged, empowered, and connected leaders for positive community impact. The Leadership alumni network includes state and local government officials, nonprofit leaders, and business executives.

WHAT OUR GRADUATES SAY

Serena Ip, Associate Project Manager, MidPen Housing Corporation
“The Leadership Program was a great way to learn more about my community and to make new connections. It encouraged me to expand my community involvement and explore new opportunities. The networking events are fun events where I can reconnect with my classmates and meet other like-minded community leaders.”

Pam Frisella, Former Foster City Mayor, Foster City Council
“I was a member of the Leadership Class of 1998 and the introduction to the complexities of the County was invaluable. I knew my community of Foster City, however this experience gave me the education and the confidence to run for City Council and really commit to make a difference. I enjoy the friendships I made and new ones that have formed or been reaffirmed at alumni reunions.”

John Kevranian, Owner, Nuts for Candy
“When I applied to the Leadership program, I thought it would be a good way to learn more about my community. But, it was so much more. I made great friends, got to engage with community leaders and found new ways to be involved. Those relationships and connections have been invaluable as I have expanded my community involvement.”

Brian Wong CFP®, Owner and Financial Advisor, Red Tower Advisors
“The Leadership program is a great way to learn more about the community we live and work in. Through the program I met influential people in many fields and have created business relationships that are still going strong five years later.”
